I started in the real estate industry in 1989 at the peak of the real estate boom. With the introduction of adjustable rate mortgages, I left selling Real Estate to become a mortgage consultant. When many financial institutions began selling mortgages with no consumer protection, such as those with yearly adjustable rates and no annual cap on interest rate changes, the industry took on the feel of the Wild West.
This really hit home when a friend called me in a panic. After just one year, his 6.5% adjustable rate mortgage had suddenly jumped to 15%, and he was unable to afford it. I really wanted to help people avoid the situation that my friend was in, so I started to concentrate on guiding people to navigate the mortgage selection process and select the right adjustable rate mortgage. Some products did provide consumer protection, and I made sure people understood that many of the "teaser rate" adjustable mortgages had interest rates that would double or triple the following year. Later, these mortgages began providing consumer protections in the form of annual and lifetime caps on interest rates. It was then that I made my exit from the business and went into technology, founding World Wide Web Solutions Inc.
I realized that the Real Estate industry had changed because of technology, but I couldn’t understand why Realtors were still marketing the same way and still charging the same commissions. My goal was to revolutionize real estate marketing, so in early 2018, I founded the eRealty Group at 93 Realty.
As a technology expert and a certified Social Media professional, I have an advantage over most Realtors. With the aid of technology, I’m able to do a large number of transactions more efficiently. And because 93 Realty is a virtual Realty Brokerage without the overhead of a large corporate office, we charge 35% less than most companies and save clients thousands of dollars. The eRealty Group combines the typical Real Estate Marketing Plan with a Digital Strategy to get maximum exposure, and that’s why many of my listings sell within 30 days, and most listings are for 93 days (excluding some luxury homes and condos).
